Jubilations erupted in the RJD camp on Monday as news spread that Tejashwi Yadav, the party's de facto leader and the deputy chief minister of Bihar, has become a father.

Yadav, who has stayed back in Delhi by the side of his wife Rajshree after an interrogation by the CBI last weekend, broke the news on his Twitter handle and also shared a picture of p holding the baby girl.

Yadav was on March 25 quizzed by the Central Bureau of Investigation for more than eight hours, while the Enforcement Directorate questioned his MP sister Misa Bharti for over six hours, in connection with the railways land-for-jobs scam case.

Interestingly, while delivering a speech inside the state assembly last week, the Deputy CM, who is in his early 30s, had said he wished that his firstborn child be a daughter.

In north India, which is largely patriarchial most families have traditionally wished for sons to the extent that there have been cases of infanticides of baby girls. Yadav's statement thus came as a welcome one.

His elder brother Tej Pratap Yadav was all smiles as he distributed sweets on the Vidhan Sabha premises in Patna, gladly telling everyone that he was now a "bade Papa".

"Laxmi has arrived in our family during the auspicious festival of Navaratri. Now all our woes shall be over," said Tej Pratap Yadav, a minister who has always been more comfortable with religion than the rough and tumble of politics.

Celebrations were also seen at the party's Bir Chand Patel Marg office, barely a few hundred metres from the assembly, where RJD workers indulged in some merry-making, temporarily banishing the anxiety arising out of the Central Bureau of Investigation and the Enforcement Directorate cracking down on the family of party supremo Lalu Prasad.

लखनऊ : माफिया डॉन अतीक अहमद (Atiq Ahmed) प्रयागराज के रास्ते में है. अतीक अहमद को गुजरात की साबरमती जेल से सड़क के रास्ते से प्रयागराज लाया जा रहा है. वहीं खबर मिली है कि वैन में बैठने से पहले डरा हुआ अतीक अहमद कुछ देर बाद ही सिपाही पर भड़क गया0. बताया जा रहा है कि अतीक अहमद साबरमती से रवाना होते समय वैन में मौजूद सिपाही पर भड़क गया था. बताया जा रहा है कि अतीक से अपना डर तो जाहिर किया ही साथ ही उसने यह भी कहा कि उसे मालूम है कि प्लान क्या है. अतीक कह रहा था, “हमको इनका प्रोग्राम मालूम है, हत्या करना चाहते हैं.”

उत्तर प्रदेश पुलिस की टीम सुबह साबरमती जेल पहुंची और आवश्यक औपचारिकताएं पूरी करने के बाद शाम करीब छह बजे एक पुलिस वैन में अहमद को लेकर निकल गई. इस दौरान सुरक्षा के पुख्ता इंतजाम किए गए थे.

उत्तर प्रदेश पुलिस की एक टीम रविवार शाम को माफिया एवं नेता अतीक अहमद को गुजरात के अहमदाबाद स्थित साबरमती केंद्रीय जेल से लेकर प्रयागराज के लिए रवाना हुई. अतीक इस जेल में जून 2019 से बंद है. अतीक अहमद को अदालत के समक्ष पेश किया जाएगा, जो 28 मार्च को एक अपहरण मामले में आदेश पारित करने वाली है, जिसमें वह आरोपी है.

सुरक्षा के पुख्ता इंतजाम

समाजवादी पार्टी के पूर्व सांसद अहमद जून 2019 से साबरमती जेल में बंद हैं. उच्चतम न्यायालय के आदेश के अनुसार, अतीक अहमद को उसके गृह राज्य (उत्तर प्रदेश) से साबरमती जेल स्थानांतरित कर दिया गया था.

प्रयागराज के पुलिस आयुक्त रमित शर्मा ने कहा कि प्रयागराज पुलिस की एक टीम को अतीक अहमद को लाने के लिए भेजा गया है, जिसे दी गई तारीख पर अदालत में पेश करना है. बताया जा रहा है कि इस टीम में 45 पुलिसकर्मी हैं और इसमें से 40 पुलिसकर्मियों के फोन जमा कर लिए गए हैं. इसमें सिर्फ 5 अधिकारियों को ही फोन दिए गए हैं.

अहमद 2005 में तत्कालीन बसपा विधायक राजू पाल की हत्या के मामले में मुख्य आरोपी है. उसके खिलाफ उमेश पाल की हत्या के मामले में हाल ही में मामला दर्ज किया गया था. उमेश पाल, राजू पाल की हत्या का मुख्य गवाह था. चौबीस फरवरी को उत्तर प्रदेश के प्रयागराज में उसकी गोली मारकर हत्या कर दी गई थी.

कहीं ‘स्वर्ग का दरवाजा’ है तो कहीं ‘पाताल जाने का मार्ग’ है. आज हम आपको ऐसी ही एक विचित्र चीज के बारे में बताने जा रहे हैं जो दुनिया की सबसे ठंडी जगह यानी एंटार्कटिका (Red glacier Antarctica) में है. यहां सफेद की जगह ‘लाल बर्फ’ (Blood red ice in Antarctica) नजर आती है जिसमें से पानी की जगह ‘खून’ निकलता है!

डेली स्टार न्यूज वेबसाइट की रिपोर्ट के अनुसार ‘ब्लड फॉल्स’ (Blood Falls) का राज सालों से वैज्ञानिकों को हैरान कर रहा था पर उन्होंने इसका सच एक रोज खोज ही निकाला जिसके बाद लोगों को पता चला कि ये असल में लाल बर्फ या खून नहीं, सिर्फ प्रकृति के अनोखेपन की वजह से ऐसा है. टेलर ग्लेशियर (Taylor Glacier) के नाम से फेमस एंटार्किटका में एक ग्लेशियर है जिसमें से लाल रंग निकलता नजर आता है. ये मैक मर्डो ड्राय वैली में है और सबसे पहले इसे 1911 में खोजा गया था. दशकों तक वैज्ञानिक इसके राज को खोजने में लगे हुए थे.

वैज्ञानिकों ने सुलझा ली गुत्थी

हाल के सालों में यूनिवर्सिटी ऑफ अलास्का फेयरबैंक्स ने इस गुत्थी को सुलझा लिया है. शोध के अनुसार लाल ग्लेशियर या बर्फ आज से नहीं, करीब 15 लाख साल से मौजूद है और ये लगातार जारी ऑक्सीकरण की वजह से है. दरअसल, इस घाटी में नमक की वजह से खारा पानी है जिसमें आयरन की मात्रा काफी ज्यादा है. ये एक बंद तालाब में है जिसमें धूप या ऑक्सीजन ठीक तरह से नहीं पहुंच पाते. इस वजह से इसमें उनकी मात्रा काफी कम है.

इस कारण पानी का रंग है लाल

जब पानी का फ्लो हवा के ऑक्सीजन से संपर्क में आता है, तो उसमें मौजूद आयरन में ज़ंग लग जाता है जिसकी वजह से वो पानी के रंग को लाल कर देता है. इस इलाके में लोग नहीं रहते हैं क्योंकि यहां का मौसम बहुत ही ठंडा है. ब्लड फॉल पहुंचने के लिए सिर्फ हेलीकॉप्टर ही एक मात्र विकल्प है जो अमेरिका के मैकमर्डो स्टेशन से मिल सकता है या फिर न्यूजीलैंड के स्कॉट बेस से मिल सकता है. शोधकर्ताओं ने पाया कि उस पानी में कई जीवाणु रहते हैं जो उसी आयरन और सल्फेट की मदद से पनपते हैं.

Barely 12 hours after Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) President Raj Thackeray's dramatic revelations of an unauthorised 'dargah' coming up in the Arabian Sea off Mahim, the BMC rushed a team there and demolished it, here on Thursday.

A team of BrihanMumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) along with a heavy police bandobast, a JCB and other equipment, swooped onto the so-called 'mazaar' (grave) of an unknown person that had quietly manifested on a tiny rocky islet a few metres away from the Mahim sea-shore.

The BMC-police teams examined it thoroughly, removed the flagpoles with green and white flags, other paraphernalia on and around the 'mazaar' and then rolled a bulldozer which reduced it to dust.

Earlier, they also discussed the matter with the trustees of the 600-year-old Hazrat Makhdum Shah Baba Radiallahuahhu, Mahim, which offered their full support to curb any illegalities on the islet nearby.

The purported 'mazaar', covered with a green cloth, garlands and flower-chadars, used to attract a few devotees who would wade through knee-deep sea-water for a few metres to visit the site and offer prayers there.

The development came the morning after Raj Thackeray pulled the ears of the state government, Mumbai Police and civic administration, and drew their attention to the potential security threat lurking there.

MNS Spokesperson Sandeep Deshpande welcomed the BMC action while state Bharatiya Janata Party President Chandrashekhar Bawankule congratulated Raj Thackeray for highlighting the matter which opened the eyes of the government.

He served an MNS-style ultimatum that unless the 'dargah' is demolished within a month, the MNS would go and erect a Ganpati Temple at the same spot.

Hinting at security implications, Thackeray had roared: "The Mahim Police Station is close by, the BMC officials keep moving around there... Yet, since the past two years this 'dargah' is blatantly coming up in the sea... Another 'Haji Ali Dargah'... And there's nobody to talk about it?"

Returning with his old style of addressing rallies with a visual component -- 'Laav re te video' (Play that video) after five years -- Raj ordered playing a clip, apparently shot with a drone, hovering around and over the tiny islet, clearly showing the 'mazaar' that has cropped up in the Mahim sea.

The video showed images of some green and white flags, fluttering on a tall pole and on strings around, a handful of men and women 'devotees' paying their respects at the makeshift grave of the unknown person reportedly resting there.

And in response they achieved their target in just 11 overs. Both of their openers scored their half centuries respectively. 

Mitchell Starc made full use of helpful conditions to take 5 for 53 as Australia bundled out India for a meagre 117 in 26 overs in the second ODI on Sunday. 

Starc’s ninth five-wicket haul in ODIs along with fine display from Sean Abbott (3/23) and Nathan Ellis (2/13) gave Indian batters no chance to settle down with the ball seaming and swinging prodigiously. 

Virat Kohli (31) and Axar Patel (29 not out) were the only batters to cross the 20-run

mark.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday said millets can help tackle challenges of food security as well as food habits and asked farm scientists to work towards increasing the share of nutri-cereals in the national food basket.

Addressing the gathering after inaugurating the ‘Global Millets (Shri Anna) Conference', he said it is a matter of great honour for the country that after India's proposal and efforts, the United Nations declared 2023 as 'International Year of Millets'.

Modi said India is continuously working to promote millets or Shri Anna as a global movement.

Stressing that millets can be grown easily in adverse climatic conditions and without chemicals and fertilizers, the prime minister said India's millets mission will benefit 2.5 crore small and marginal farmers in the country.

"Today millets constitute only 5-6 per cent in the national food basket. I urge India's scientists and farm experts to work expeditiously to increase the share. We will have to set achievable targets for it," Modi said.

Stating that the government has launched a production linked incentive (PLI) scheme for the food processing sector, he asked companies to take advantage of the programme to increase production of millet-based products.

Recognising the importance of millets or nutri-cereals, and creating a domestic and global demand along with providing nutritious food to the people, India spearheaded the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) resolution for declaring the year 2023 as International Year of Millets.

The proposal of India was supported by 72 countries, and UNGA declared 2023 as International Year of Millets in March 2021.

Millet is a common term to categorise small-seeded grasses that are often termed nutri-cereals or dryland-cereals and includes Sorghum (Jowar), Pearl Millet (Bajra), Finger Millet (Ragi), Little Millet (Kutki), Foxtail Millet (Kakun), Proso Millet (Cheena), Barnyard Millet (Sawa), Kodo Millet (Kodon) and other millets.

India produces more than 170 lakh tonne of millet, which is 80 per cent of Asia's and 20 per cent of global production. While the global average yield of millet is 1,229 kg/hectare, the yield in India is 1,239 kg/ha.

Not every system is perfect but this is the best system available, Chief Justice of India D Y Chandrachud said on Saturday while defending the Collegium system of judges appointing judges, a major bone of contention between the government and judiciary.

Speaking at the India Today Conclave, 2023, the CJI said judiciary has to be protected from outside influences if it has to be independent.

"Not every system is perfect but this is the best system we have developed. But the object was to protect the independence of the judiciary, which is a cardinal value. We have to insulate the judiciary from outside influences if the judiciary has to be independent," Chandrachud said.

The CJI also responded to Law Minister Kiren Rijiju voicing displeasure over the Supreme Court लCollegium revealing the government's reasons for not approving the names recommended by it for appointment as judges of constitutional courts.

"What is wrong about having a difference in perception? But, I have to deal with such differences with a sense of robust constitutional statesmanship. I do not want to join issues with the law minister, we are bound to have differences of perceptions," the CJI said.

Rijiju has been quite vocal against the Collegium system and once even called it "alien to our Constitution".

Justice Chandrachud said there is absolutely no pressure from the government on how to decide cases.

"In my 23 years of being a judge, no one has told me 9how to decide a case. There is absolutely no pressure from the government. The Election Commission judgment is proof that there is no pressure on the judiciary," CJI said.

The Supreme Court had recently ruled the appointment of the Chief Election Commissioner and election commissioners will be done by the President on the advise of a committee comprising the Prime Minister, Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha and the Chief Justice of India.

नई दिल्ली: सोशल मीडिया (Social Media) पर एक वीडियो वायरल (Viral Video) है जिसमें स्विगी (Swiggy) का डिलीवरी बॉय दिल्ली के मरघट वाले हनुमान मंदिर (Marghat Hanuman Mandir) परिसर में मटन कोरमा डिलीवरी करने से मना कर रहा है. 

News18 इंडिया ने स्विगी के डिलीवरी बॉय सचिन पांचाल (Sachin Panchal) से बात की. सचिन ने पूरी घटना के बारे में News18 इंडिया को बताया. सचिन पांचाल के मुताबिक मामला 28 फरवरी और 1 मार्च की रात करीब 12 बजे का है.

जब स्विगी के डिलीवरी बॉय सचिन पांचाल को करोल बाग से नजीर फूड से मटन कोरमा और रोटी डिलीवर करने के लिए मिला. 

सचिन जब लोकेशन पर पंहुचे तो देखा कि मटन की डिलीवरी दिल्ली में ISBT स्थित मरघट वाले हनुमान मंदिर परिसर में बनी राम कचौड़ी की दुकान पर करनी थी. लेकिन सचिन पांचाल ने मटन ऑर्डर करने वाले अभिषेक शर्मा को मटन डिलीवरी करने से मना कर दिया और इस पूरी घटना का वीडियो बना लिया. इसके बाद वीडियो सोशल मीडिया पर वायरल है.

इस्लामाबादः पाकिस्तान में अल्पसंख्यक हिंदुओं पर हिंसा कम होने का नाम नहीं ले रही है. एक बार फिर से पाकिस्तान में एक हिंदू की हत्या (Hindu Doctor Killed in Pakistan) का मामला सामने आया है. 

होली के मौके पर पाकिस्तान के सिंध प्रांत में एक डॉक्टर की उन्हीं के ड्राइवर ने गला काटकर बेरहमी से हत्या कर दी. इस घटना के बाद से एक बार फिर से पाकिस्तान में अल्पसपंख्यकों में दहशत का माहौल है. 

पाकिस्तानी अखबार द नेशन के मुताबिक स्किन स्पेशलिस्ट डॉ धर्मदेव राठी की उनके ही ड्राइवर ने हत्या कर दी थी. मंगलवार रात घर लौटने के बाद उनके ड्राइवर ने चाकू से उनका गला रेत दिया.

पाकिस्तान के हैदराबाद शहर के रहने वाले डॉ धर्मदेव राठी के ड्राइवर ने मंगलवार को उनके घर पहुंचने के बाद उनके किचन से ही चाकू निकालकर राठी का गला काटकर हत्या कर दी. 

आरोपी ड्राइवर की पहचान हनीफ लेघारी के तौर पर हुई है और पुलिस ने उसे घटना के एक ही दिन बाद गिरफ्तार कर लिया. डॉक्टर के घर पर खाना बनाने वाले शख्स ने पुलिस को बताया कि डॉक्टर और ड्राइवर के बीच रास्ते में ही कहासुनी हो गई थी.

उठ कर सारे घर में झाड़ू, चौका बर्तन भी करना है।

चुल्हे का था दौर पुराना, चक्की से आटा पिसता था,

संयुक्त घरो का दौर वह था, कुयें से पानी भरना है।

बहू बनी जब सास, वह भी ऐसा ही सोचा करती थी,

सास का रुतबा बना रहे, नित उपाय सोचा करती थी।

कभी कभी तो हाथ उठाकर, अपना अधिकार जताती,

बहु अगर कुछ मिली हठीली, बेटे को बस में करती थी।

एक रोज़ सास ने समझाया, नहीं तुम्हारा मैका है,

सुबह जल्दी उठा करो, यह नहीं तुम्हारा मैका है।

बहु ने समझाया सास को, किस दौर में रहती हो,

हम तुम दोनों एक यहाँ, यह नहीं तुम्हारा मैका है।

पढ़ी लिखी हो गयी बेटियाँ, देर सवेरे उठती हैं,

देर रात तक घर में टीवी, मोबाईल पर लिखती हैं।

पति देव भी अब घर में, पत्नी के पक्ष खडे होते,

आँख दिखाई अगर सास ने, अलग घर में दिखती हैं।

नये दौर में बहन बेटियाँ, पढ़ लिख कर आगे बढ़ती,

जीवन पथ पर ज़िम्मेदारी, हर क्षेत्र में आगे बढ़ती।

घर बाहर परिवार जनों की, हर ज़रूरत का ध्यान रखे,

वहीं बेटियाँ बहुएँ बनकर, परिवार संग आगे बढ़ती।

बदल गयी हैं सास आजकल, बहुओं संग मिलकर रहती,

नहीं चली जो ताल मिलाकर, अलग गाँव-घर में रहती।

बहु जाये जब सुबह काम पर, घर को सास सँभाले,

बहु बच्चों संग वह व्यस्त रहे, जीवन में खुश रहती।

गीदड़ गिर गया झेरे मे, अब विश्राम यहीं है ,

हर हाल संग संग रहना, अब आराम यहीं है।

सिमट गये परिवार, एकल परिवारों का दौर,

सुख दुःख ख़ुशियों गम का, अब समाधान यहीं है।

नई दिल्ली: पेरिस सेंट-जर्मेन और मोरक्को के डिफेंडर अशरफ हकीमी पर रेप का आरोप लगाया गया है। फ्रांसीसी अभियोजकों ने शुक्रवार को एएफपी को बताया कि हकीमी से एक 24 वर्षीय महिला के आरोपों के संबंध में पूछताछ की गई है। हकीमी पर आरोप है कि उन्होंने 25 फरवरी को पेरिस में अपने घर पर रेप किया। हालांकि खिलाड़ी के वकील ने कहा है कि हकीमी धोखाधड़ी के प्रयास का शिकार हुआ है। नानटेरे अभियोजन कार्यालय ने शुक्रवार को कहा कि हकीमी को पुलिस की निगरानी में रखा गया है और पीड़ित से संपर्क करने पर प्रतिबंध लगा दिया गया है।

हकीमी ने सभी आरोपों का खंडन किया

उनके वकील फैनी कॉलिन के अनुसार, हकीमी ने सभी आरोपों का खंडन किया है। उन्होंने जांच का स्वागत भी किया है। पीएसजी ने गुरुवार को एक बयान में कहा, “क्लब उस खिलाड़ी का समर्थन करता है, जिसने आरोपों का दृढ़ता से खंडन किया है। वह न्याय प्रणाली पर भरोसा करता है।” हालांकि क्लब ने कहा कि “पेरिस सेंट-जर्मेन एक संस्था है जो पिच पर और बाहर सम्मान को बढ़ावा देती है।”

मोरक्को की टीम के स्टार थे हकीमी

पीएसजी प्रबंधक क्रिस्टोफ गाल्टियर ने शुक्रवार को संवाददाता सम्मेलन में जांच पर टिप्पणी करने से इंकार कर दिया। चैंपियंस लीग के अंतिम-16 के दूसरे चरण में लीग 1 की टीम का सामना बायर्न म्यूनिख से होगा, जिसमें हकीमी के मांसपेशियों की चोट से उबरने के बाद खेलने की उम्मीद है। मैड्रिड में जन्मे खिलाड़ी पिछले साल कतर में विश्व कप के सेमीफाइनल में मोरक्को की टीम का महत्वपूर्ण हिस्सा थे। सोमवार को हकीमी पेरिस में फीफा के सर्वश्रेष्ठ पुरस्कार समारोह में दिखाई दिए, जहां उन्हें वर्ष की FIFPro पुरुषों की विश्व टीम में नामित किया गया। कई रिपोर्टों के अनुसार, उनकी पत्नी हिबा अबौक ने तलाक के लिए केस फाइल करने का फैसला किया है।

Holi Surprise by Govt: LPG price hiked by steep Rs 50; ATF price cut by 4 pc

Cooking gas LPG price on Wednesday was hiked by Rs 50 per cylinder -- the first increase in rates in almost eight months -- that came within days of end of polling in three northeastern states and was sharply criticised by the Opposition.

A 14.2-kg LPG cylinder in Delhi now costs Rs 1,103, up from Rs 1,053, according to a price notification of state-owned fuel retailers.

State-owned Indian Oil Corporation (IOC), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (BPCL) and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (HPCL) said Rs 1,103 was the rate for a 14.2-kg non-subsidised LPG cylinder.

The government doesn't pay any subsidy to most non-Ujjwala users and this is the rate that they will have to pay for buying cooking gas refills.

The government pays Rs 200 per cylinder subsidy to the 9.58 crore poor who got free LPG connection under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana. The effective price for them would be Rs 903 per cylinder.

State-owned fuel retailers are supposed to revise rates on a monthly basis in line with cost but they have not done so since 2020 and were in October last year given a one-time grant of Rs 22,000 crore to make up for losses they incurred between June 2020 and June 2022.

They last revised domestic LPG price on July 4, 2022.

With the latest increase, LPG now costs Rs 1,102.50 per 14.2-kg cylinder in Mumbai, Rs 1,129 in Kolkata and Rs 1,118.50 in Chennai.

Rates differ from state to state depending on local taxes.

Parallely, oil firms also hiked the price of commercial LPG, used in hotels and restaurants, by Rs 350.5 to Rs 2,119.5 per 19-kg cylinder.

Commercial LPG rates have more or less moved in tandem with cost which soared in the aftermath of Russia's invasion of Ukraine a year back.

Rates of commercial LPG were last hiked by Rs 25 per cylinder in January.

The Opposition criticised the government for raising the fuel rates, particularly of domestic LPG ahead of Holi.

In a tweet, Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge said the common man is suffering from backbreaking inflation under the Modi government.

Priyanka Chaturvedi of Shiv Sena-Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray said this was Modi government's Holi gift.

Separately, ATF price was cut by 4 per cent in line with softening international rates of the fuel.

Accordingly, jet fuel rates were reduced by Rs 4,606.50 per kilolitre to Rs 1,07,750.27 per kl in Delhi.

This reverses the hike in rates effected by an equal measure last month.

ATF price is revised on the 1st of every month based on the average rate of international benchmark and foreign exchange rates.

Petrol and diesel prices, however, continued to remain on freeze for a record 11th month in a row. Petrol costs Rs 96.72 per litre in the national capital and diesel comes for Rs 89.62.

State-owned fuel retailers are supposed to revise petrol and diesel prices daily based on a 15-day rolling average of benchmark international fuel prices but they haven't done that since April 6, 2022.

Prices were last changed on May 22 when the government cut excise duty to give relief to consumers from a spike in retail rates that followed a surge in international oil prices.
