Olympics Men’s Hockey: India beat Japan to End Group Stage with a Win

India defeated host Japan 5-3 in their final preliminary match in men’s hockey Group A to finish their proceedings in second place behind world No. 1 Australia in the Tokyo Olympics on Friday.

The Men In Blue will next be in action in the quarter-finals of the mega event. Japan might have scored three goals but the Indian boys made sure the Men in Blue were in the lead throughout the game and dominated proceedings.

This is India’s best performance in the league phase in the last four decades as they had last finished second in the group in the 1980 Moscow Olympics when they won their eighth and last gold medal so far.

But that was a depleted field and before that India had finished second in their preliminary group in the 1972 Munich Olympics when they last made the semifinals by topping Group B ahead of Netherlands in the 16-team, two-pool competition.

On Friday, India looked in control as they surged to a 2-0 lead in the first quarter. But Japan came storming back to level the scores 2-2 early in the third quarter before Graham Reid’s India tightened their game, launched some good attacks to score three more goals to put the result beyond doubt. Japan scored their third goal in the last minute but it was too late.

Gurjant Singh (17th min, 56th min) scored a brace while drag-flicker Harmanpreet Singh (13th min), Shamsher Singh (34th min) and Nilakanta Sharma (51st min) contributed a goal each for India. Kenta Tanaka (19th min), Kota Watanabe (33rd min) and Kazuma Murata (59th min) scored the three goals for Japan.

India ended their campaign with 12 points from four wins and one defeat and finished one point behind Australia who were held to a 1-1 draw by Spain in the morning.

Spain, New Zealand, and Argentina are contesting for the remaining two quarterfinal spots from Pool A.

Six-time world champion M C Mary Kom’s (51kg) pursuit of a second Olympic medal ended in the pre-quarterfinals of the Tokyo Games as she went down to 2016 edition’s Bronze-medallist Ingrit Valencia in a fiercely-fought showdown on Thursday.

The funny part, Mary Kom had actually won two of the three rounds.

“I don’t know what happened, I thought in the first round, we were both trying to figure out our strategies and I won the next two,” said the perplexed legend after the bout. The Indian trailed 4-1 in the opening round with four of the five judges scoring it 10-9 in favour of Valencia. In the next two rounds, Mary Kom got three of the five judges to rule in her favour but the overall scoreline was still in favour of Valencia.

The Manipuri clinched the third round too but once again, it was 3-2 and not 4-1 which is what she needed to swing the final score in her favour.

The 38-year-old, who is a multiple-time Asian champion and a Bronze-winner from the 2012 London olympics, lost 2-3 to the Colombian, giving it her all in what would now be her final Olympic bout.

Mary Kom had tears in her eyes and a wide smile on her face when the referee raised Valencia’s hand at the end of the bout, exhausted after the intense clash.

Despite the heartbreak, Mary Kom said she has no desire to call it quits just yet.

“I can still fight, I am still strong enough,” she said.

CBSE Class 12th Result 2021, Pass Percentage goes above 99%: Cut-off of UG courses Likely to Spike

CBSE Board Class 12th Result 2021 LIVE Updates: As per the board's 40:30:30 formula for evaluation of marks of class 12 students, students will be assessed based on their class 12, class 11 and class 10 marks. The result will be available at official website - cbse.nic.in, cbseresults.nic.in. or cbse.gov.in.

This year, 99.37 pass percentage has been recorded which is nearly 10 per cent higher than previous year’s 88.8 per cent. In 2019, it was 83.4 per cent. As many as 65,184 students have not received their results today as their result are still being processed. CBSE will announce their result on August 5.

The senior secondary exam results have been declared based on an alternative marking scheme after the central government decided to cancel CBSE Class 12 board exams due to the coronavirus outbreak. As per the board’s 40:30:30 formula for evaluation of marks of class 12 students, students will be assessed based on their class 12, class 11 and class 10 marks.

According to the formula, the theory marks of each subject will be computed using 40% from the marks they got in the subject pre-boards or mid-term exams held by their schools earlier this year, 30% from their Class 11 final exam marks, and 30% from their Class 10 board exam results. This will be added to the actual marks that they got in their Class 12 internal assessments and practicals for that subject.

Students who are not satisfied with the manner of assessment or the marks they will get will be allowed to sit for written examinations conducted by the board “when conditions are conducive for holding the examinations”.

For class 10, the CBSE has adopted an alternative strategy to evaluate students without final exams. According to the alternate CBSE evaluation strategy, while 20 marks for each subject will be for internal assessment, 80 marks will be calculated based on students’ performance in various tests or exams throughout the year.

        नई दिल्ली : भारतीय मुक्केबाज लवलीना बोर्गोहेन ने तोक्यो ओलिंपिक में भारत के लिए एक और पदक पक्का कर लिया है। उन्होंने क्वॉर्टर फाइनल में चीनी ताइपे की मुक्केबाज चिन चेन को हराकर कम से कम कांस्य पदक पक्का कर लिया है। आइए जानते हैं इस मुक्केबाज के बारे में खास बातें।

        लवलीना का जन्म असम के गोलाघाट जिले में 2 अक्टूबर 1997 को हुआ था। उन्होंने अपने करियर की शुरुआत एक किक-बॉक्सर के रूप में की थी। उनकी दोनों बहनें किक-बॉक्सर हैं। उनके पिता एक छोटे व्यापारी हैं ऐसे में उनके लिए अपनी बेटी के ख्वाब को पूरा करना काफी संघर्षपूर्ण था। हालांकि लवलीना ने खुद ही इस मौके का फायदा उठाया। जब स्पोर्ट्स अथॉरिटी ऑफ इंडिया के ट्रायल उनके स्कूल में हुए तो उन्होंने काफी प्रभावित किया।

        साई मे सिलेक्ट होने के बाद पदम बोरो ने उन्हें साल 2012 में ट्रेनिंग देनी शुरू की। उन्होंने बॉक्सिंग अकादमी में ट्रेनिंग लेनी शुरू कर दी। इंटरनैशनल स्टेज पर पहुंचने केबाद उन्हें भारतीय महिला बॉक्सिंग के मुख्य कोच शिव सिंह ने ट्रेनिंग दी।

        लवलीना ने पहले इंडिया ओपन में वॉल्टरवेट में गोल्ड मेडल जीता। यह अंतरराष्ट्रीय स्तर की प्रतियोगिता थी। इसके बाद उन्होंने वियतनाम में एशियन बॉक्सिंग चैंपियनशिप में ब्रॉन्ज मेडल हासिल किया। साथ ही अस्थाना में हुए प्रेजिडेंट कप में भी उन्होंने जीत हासिल की। लवलीना ने बाद में उलानबातर कप (मंगोलिया) में सिल्वर मेडल हासिल किया।

इसके साथ ही उन्होंने AIBA वुमन वर्ल्ड बॉक्सिंग चैंपियनशिप में भी ब्रॉन्ज मेडल हासिल किया। इसके साथ ही वह असम से ओलिंपिक से क्वॉलिफाइ करने वाली पहली महिला खिलाड़ी हैं।

        2018 गोल्ड कोस्ट कॉमनवेल्थ गेम्स में पहली बार मीडिया का ध्यान उन पर गया। खबर आई थी कि उन्हें सिलेक्शन के बारे मे आधिकारिक रूप से सूचना नहीं दी गई थी जबकि स्थानीय न्यूज चैनल ने यह खबर दी। लवलीना को बॉक्सिंग में उनके योगदान के लिए अर्जुन अवॉर्ड से सम्मानित भी किया गया।

        तोक्यो : पीवी सिंधु तोक्यो ओलिंपिक की महिला एकल बैडमिंटन स्पर्धा के सेमीफाइनल में पहुंच गईं। कांटे के मुकाबले में जापानी स्टार अकाने यामागुची को उन्होंने 21-13, 22-20 से हराया। इससे पहले एकतरफा प्री-क्वॉर्टर फाइनल मुकाबले में डेनमार्क की मिया ब्लिचफेल्ट को सीधे गेम में हराकर उन्होंने अंतिम आठ में जगह बनाई थी।

सिंधु की शानदार जीत

        जापानी स्टार अकाने यामागुची को 21-13, 22-20 से हराते हुए भारतीय शटलर सेमीफाइनल में पहुंच गईं। वह पीवी सिंधु अपने दूसरे ओलिंपिक मेडल से महज एक जीत दूर है। पहला सेट एकतरफा अंदाज में जीतने के बाद दूसरे सेट में भी सिंधु ने शुरुआत बढ़त बनाई थी, लेकिन एक पल ऐसा भी आया जब यामागुची ने लगातार पॉइंट्स लेकर रियो ओलिंपिक सिल्वर मेडलिस्ट को दबाव में डाल दिया था। सिंधु पिछड़ने लगी। ऐसा लग रहा था कि मुकाबला तीसरे गेम तक चलेगा, लेकिन भारतीय स्टार ने अपनी नब्ज पर काबू रखते हुए पहले बराबरी की फिर ताकतवर स्मैश से मुकाबला अपने नाम किया।

DRDO has developed an anti-drone system to neutralize enemy drone attacks. The Indigenous Drone Technology is capable of counter attacks including detection, Soft Kill (for jamming the communication links of Drone) and Hard Kill (Laser based hard kill to destroy the Drone) of enemy Drones.

The System is already demonstrated to Armed Services and other internal security agencies.

The indigenous DRDO Counter-Drone Technology is transferred to M/s BEL. Simultaneously, Transfer of Technology (ToT) of the Counter-Drone System is offered to other companies.

This information was given by Raksha Rajya Mantri Ajay Bhatt in a written reply to Shrimati Keshari Devi Patel and Kanakmal Katarain in Lok Sabha on Wednesday.

Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) Science & Technology Mr. Jitendr Kumar Dr Jitendra Singh said that Chandrayaan-3 is likely to be launched during the third quarter of 2022 assuming normal workflow henceforth.

In a written reply to a question in the Lok Sabha on Wednesday, he said, the realization of Chandrayaan-3 is in progress.

The realization of Chandrayaan-3 involves various processes including finalization of configuration, subsystems realization, integration, spacecraft level detailed testing and a number of special tests to evaluate the system performance on earth.

The realization progress was hampered due to the COVID-19 pandemic. However, all works that were possible in work from home mode were taken up even during lockdown periods. Chandrayaan-3 realization resumed after commencement of unlock period and is in matured stage of realization.

ट्रायएथलीट फ्लोरा डफी ने मंगलवार को इतिहास रच दिया। उन्होंने अपने देश बरमूडा के लिए ओलिंपिक में पहला गोल्ड मेडल जीता। 33 वर्षीय इस ऐथलीट ने यह दौड़ 1 घंटा, 55 मिनट और 36 सेकंड में पूरी की। उन्होंने ब्रिटेन की जॉर्जिया टेलर-ब्राउन को एक मिनट के अंतर से हराया। वहीं अमेरिका की ऐथलीट कैटी जाफर्स ने ब्रॉन्ज मेडल जीता।

डफी की कामयाबी ने बरमूडा को समर ओलिंपिक में गोल्ड मेडल जीतने वाला आबादी के लिहाज से दुनिया का सबसे छोटा देश बना दिया है। इस द्वीपीय देश की आबादी करीब 70 हजार है।

उन्होंने कहा, 'मुझे लगता है कि मैं अपने बाकी के जीवन में ओलिंपिक चैंपियन कहलाई जाऊंगी।' बरमूडा के लिए ओलिंपिक में आखिरी पदक बॉक्सर क्लारेंस हिल ने जीता था। उन्होंने 1976 के मोंट्रेयाल ओलिंपिक में ब्रॉन्ज मेडल हासिल किया था।

डफी के लिए यह शानदार वापसी थी। चोटों और साल 2013 में एनीमिया से गुजरने के बाद उन्होंने वपासी की। साल 2008 में इवेंट खत्म नहीं करने के बाद उन्होंने खेल छोड़ दिया था और एक दुकान पर काम करना शुरू कर दिया था। इसके साथ ही उन्होंने अपनी डिग्री के लिए पढ़ाई भी की। पर खेल का प्यार उन्हें खींच लाया।

फिसलन भरी परिस्थितियों के चलते यह रेस 15 मिनट की देरी से शुरू हुई। पिछली रात को तोक्यो में काफी बारिश हुई थी। डफी ने आखिरी सेक्शन में बढ़त बनानी शुरू की। पहले चार चक्कर के बाद उन्होंने एक मिनट की बढ़त बना ली थी। उनकी बढ़त को पूरी दौड़ में कहीं कोई चुनौती नहीं मिली।

India has so far received 26 Rafale aircraft out of the 36 it has ordered from Dassault Aviation, Minister of State for Defence Ajay Bhatt said Wednesday.

"The delivery of 36 Rafale aircraft is proceeding as per schedule. As on date, a total of 26 aircraft have been accepted and ferried to India," Bhatt said in a written reply to a question in Lok Sabha.

The multi-role Rafale jets, built by French aerospace major Dassault Aviation, are known for air superiority and precision strikes.

The first batch of five Rafale jets arrived in India on July 29, 2020, nearly four years after India signed an inter-governmental agreement with France to procure 36 aircraft at a cost of Rs 59,000 crore.

The Rafale jets are India's first major acquisition of fighter planes in 23 years after the Sukhoi jets were imported from Russia.

The Rafale jet is capable of carrying a range of potent weapons. European missile maker MBDA's Meteor beyond visual range air-to-air missile and Scalp cruise missile will be the mainstay of the weapons package of the Rafale jets.

Six-time world champion M C Mary Kom (51kg) powered into the Olympic Games’ pre-quarterfinals after staving off a stiff challenge from Dominican Republic’s Miguelina Hernandez Garcia in the opening round here on Sunday.

The 38-year-old, who is a 2012 Olympic bronze-medallist, prevailed 4-1 against a rival who is 15 years her junior and a Pan American Games bronze-medallist.

In a bout that was exciting from start to finish, Mary Kom displayed some brilliant tactics to overcome the spirted fight that Garcia put up.

If she held back in the opening round to get a good measure of her rival, the veteran was aggression personified in the final three minutes after Garcia bagged the second round with some fierce punching of her own.

Mary Kom’s trusted right hook aided her well through the bout and she also displayed a sharp mind by forcing Garcia to lunge at her, opening up the space for the Indian to land clear punches.

The youngster from Dominica had the stomach for a fight but was undone by her inability to strike clearly.

Mary Kom, a mother of four, will next be up against third-seeded Colombian medallist Ingrit Valencia, who was a bronze-medallist at the 2016 Rio Games.

      Reigning world champion P V Sindhu made a dominating start to her Olympic campaign, thrashing Israel’s Ksenia Polikarpova in straight games in the women’s singles group J match here on Sunday.

    The 26-year-old Indian, seeded sixth, beat the 58th ranked Polikarpova 21-7 21-10 in a lop-sided opening match.

      “Even though it was an easy first match I didn’t take it in an easy way. It wasn’t like I wasn’t prepared. Every time, it is very important to be focused and be prepared for every single point in every single match,” Sindhu said after the match.

       “It was quite an easy match but I made sure that we had some rallies and I got used to the court.”

          The world number seven Indian will next play Hong Kong’s world number 34 Cheung Ngan Yi in the group stage.

Rio Games silver medallist Sindhu started on an attacking note but briefly found herself trailing 3-4. However, she moved ahead quickly with Polikarpova making unforced errors. Sindhu entered the break with 11-5 lead.

         Soon, Sindhu was on a roll, grabbing 13 straight points. The Indian used her trademark straight and cross court smashes and drops to trouble the Israeli, who couldn’t utilise the few opportunities that came her way.

वेटलिफ्टर मीराबाई चानू  ने तोक्यो ओलिंपिक2021 में भारत के पदकों का खाता खोल दिया है। मीराबाई ने 49 किलोग्राम वर्ग में भारत को सिल्वर मेडल दिलाया।

मीराबाई चानू ने ओलिंपिक खेलों की भारोत्तोलन स्पर्धा में पदक का भारत का 21 साल का इंतजार खत्म किया। चानू ने क्लीन एवं जर्क में 115 किग्रा और स्नैच में 87 किग्रा से कुल 202 किग्रा वजन उठाकर रजत पदक अपने नाम किया।

इससे पहले कर्णम मल्लेश्वरी ने सिडनी ओलंपिक 2000 में देश के लिए भारोत्तोलन में कांस्य पदक जीता था। 

चीन की होऊ झिऊई ने कुल 210 किग्रा (स्नैच में 94 किग्रा, क्लीन एवं जर्क में 116 किग्रा) कुल वजन उठाकर स्वर्ण पदक अपने नाम किया। इंडोनेशिया की ऐसाह विंडी कांटिका ने कुल 194 किग्रा का वजन उठाकर कांस्य पदक हासिल किया था।

The BJP on Thursday denounced the global Pegasus Project media investigation as “fake news” and “yellow journalism”, and claimed that Amnesty International had said that the list of phone numbers suspected to be under surveillance was not directly related to the Israeli company NSO Group.

The global human rights organisation, however, issued a statement debunking the “false rumours” and “inaccurate media stories”, and stressing that it “categorically stands by” the findings of the investigation.

At a press conference at the BJP headquarters on Thursday afternoon, Minister of State for External Affairs Meenakshi Lekhi claimed that Amnesty had “denied that the list which is floating around is not the actual list”.

Around the same time, Amnesty said: “Amnesty International categorically stands by the findings of the Pegasus Project, and that the data is irrefutably linked to potential targets of NSO Group’s Pegasus spyware. The false rumours being pushed on social media are intended to distract from the widespread unlawful targeting of journalists, activists and others that the Pegasus Project has revealed.

The list of possible targets of surveillance by government clients of NSO Group’s Pegasus spyware was obtained by Amnesty International along with the French journalism nonprofit Forbidden Stories, and shared with 17 media partners around the world, including The Guardian in the United Kingdom, The Washington Post in the United States, Le Monde in France, and The Wire in India.

For the last five days, these media organisations have been publishing reports based on the leaked list as part of their ‘Pegasus Project’ investigation.

Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi, the traditional prime minister of the Zulu nation, has made an impassioned plea for an end to anti-Indian sentiment that has seen rising tensions between Indian-origin South Africans and their Black compatriots.

The tensions have been particularly high in the sprawling Indian township of Phoenix, north of Durban, and residents of three surrounding Black areas following the deaths of 22 people in Phoenix during the riots and looting last week by vigilante groups trying to protect their businesses and homes from looters.

The unrest started with protests after the jailing of former president Jacob Zuma on July 7, but rapidly degenerated into mass mob looting and arson allegedly fuelled by poverty and unemployment.

Zuma was sentenced to 15 months imprisonment by the country’s apex court for contempt of court after he repeatedly refused to testify at the Commission of Inquiry into State Capture, where several witnesses have implicated him in corruption.

President Cyril Ramaphosa has called the incidents “a failed insurrection” in an organised way. Buthelezi said in an interview on TV channel Newzroom Afrika (sic) that Indians and Blacks had lived side-by side for generations, as he decried the killings in Phoenix.

“This (the killings) is most unfortunate. The people who did this are very stupid, because they should have known beforehand what was likely to follow after that, that there would be feelings of wanting to retaliate,” Buthelezi said.

“I’ve always lived cheek-by-jowl with the Indian people. Some of the Indians are committed to social cohesion, because there is no future if we don’t promote and consolidate social cohesion,” said the 92-year-old politician who started the mainly-Zulu Inkatha Freedom Party in 1975.

  China on Thursday categorically rejected the WHO’s plan for the second phase of coronavirus origin-tracing in Wuhan, especially to probe the lab leak theory, as it dismissed reports that some of the employees of the facility were infected with the deadly virus before it spread to the city and the world.

China will not follow the World Health Organisation’s suggested plan on the second phase of COVID-19 origin-tracing, Zeng Yixin, the vice minister of the National Health Commission (NHC), told a media briefing here.

    The work plan on the second-phase origins study proposed by the WHO contains language that does not respect science, he said.

       China’s broadside against the WHO and its Director General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, who previously won Beijing’s praise and support for praising President Xi Jinping’s handling of the coronavirus, came after he asked China to be transparent and provide raw data.

      “Asking actually China to be transparent, open and cooperate, especially on the information, raw data that we asked for at the early days of the pandemic. We owe it to the millions who suffered and the millions who died to know what happened,” he had said.

      State-run Global Times reported that the WHO on Friday last proposed a second phase study into the origins of the coronavirus in China, which includes all the laboratories and markets in Wuhan.

     Zeng said the plan has listed the hypothesis that China had violated lab regulations and leaked the virus as one of the major research objectives, and he was “very shocked” after reading the proposal, state-run China Daily reported.

       Instead, the next-phase origin tracing should focus on various regions and countries, he said, reiterating Beijing’s oft-repeated claim that the coronavirus broke out in several places in the world and China was the first to report about it in December, 2019 when it emerged in the central Chinese city of Wuhan.

       Zeng said he was shocked by the WHO’s work plan as it has been compromised by political manipulation and disrespect of scientific facts.

       He said China had allowed the WHO experts to visit all places they wanted to go and meet all people they wanted to see early this year, adding that the results of the WHO-China joint study are able to stand the test of time.

     “We hope the WHO can carefully consider the advice by Chinese scientists, take investigating the origin of the COVID-19 virus as a scientific question free from political interference,” the vice minister said.

     London Olympics bronze medallist M. C. Mary Kom and Indian men’s hockey team captain Manpreet Singh will be India's flag bearers. The table tennis quartet, sailing team and boxing squad will also be present, along with gymnast Pranati Nayak and swimmer Sajan Prakash.

         But None of the shuttlers, shooters, archers and tennis players will attend the ceremony, while both the hockey teams will also skip the event. Weightlifter Mirabai Chanu, judoka Shushila Devi will also be among the absentees.

तालिबान के आतंक से जूझ रहे अफगानिस्तान में भारत की परेशानियां अचानक बढ़ गई हैं। पाकिस्तानी खुफिया एजेंसी आईएसआई ने तालिबान की मदद के लिए भेजे गए अपने लड़ाकों को भारतीय इंफ्रास्ट्रक्चर्स और संपत्तियों को निशाना बनाने का आदेश दिया है। खुद अफगानिस्तान के राष्ट्रपति अशरफ गनी ने इमरान खान के सामने कहा था कि पाकिस्तान से तालिबान की सहायता के लिए 10 हजार लड़ाके उनके देश में घुसे हैं। कुछ दिन पहेल ही भारत के बनाए सलमा डैम पर तालिबान आतंकियों ने रॉकेट से हमला किया था।

समाचार एजेंसी एएनआई ने अफगानिस्तान की निगरानी करने वाले सरकारी सूत्रों के हवाले से दावा किया है कि पाकिस्तानी और तालिबान लड़ाकों को विशेष निर्देश के साथ भारत में निर्मित संपत्तियों को निशाना बनाने के लिए भेजा गया है। उन्हें यह भी कहा गया है कि वे भारत के किसी भी सद्भावना वाले काम में बाधा डालें। भारत ने अफगानिस्तान में शिक्षा के क्षेत्र में बहुत बड़ा योगदान दिया है। उनके शिक्षकों और सहायक कर्मचारियों को ट्रेनिंग देने में भी भारत ने बड़ी भूमिका निभाई है।

हक्कानी नेटवर्क सहित पाकिस्तान समर्थित इस्लामिक आतंकवादी समूह अफगानिस्तान में भारत के खिलाफ कई साल से सक्रिय हैं। भारतीय एजेंसियां काबुल हवाईअड्डे पर भी स्थिति पर करीब से नजर रखे हुए हैं। इतना ही नहीं, अफगानिस्तान में सिविल वर्क में लगे भारतीय कामगारों को भी बाहर जाने को कहा गया है। भारतीय सार्वजनिक क्षेत्र की कंपनी WAPCOS शाहतूत बांध परियोजना के लिए अपने कुछ अधिकारियों और कर्मचारियों को अफगानिस्तान में तैनात किया हुआ था।

भारत की कई परियोजनाओं को खतरा

अफगानिस्तान को विकसित करने के लिए भारत ने अरबों डॉलर का निवेश किया है। रिपोर्ट के अनुसार, भारत ने अफगानिस्तान को अबतक 3 अरब डॉलर से ज्यादा की सहायता दी है। जिससे वहां की संसद भवन, सड़कों और बांधों का निर्माण किया गया है। भारत अब भी 116 सामुदायिक विकास की परियोजनाओं पर काम कर रहा है। इनमें शिक्षा, स्वास्थ्य, कृषि, सिंचाई, पेयजल, रिन्यूएबल एनर्जी, खेल और प्रशासनिक ढांचे का निर्माण भी शामिल हैं। भारत काबुल के लिये शहतूत बांध और पेयजल 

परियोजना पर भी काम कर रहा है।

अफगानिस्तान में भारत की लोकप्रियता बढ़ी

अफगान शरणार्थियों के पुनर्वास के लिए भारत नानगरहर प्रांत में कम लागत पर घरों का निर्माण का काम भी शुरू करने जा रहा है। इसके अलावा बमयान प्रांत में बंद-ए-अमीर तक सड़क का निर्माण, परवान प्रांत में चारिकार शहर के लिये पीने के पानी के नेटवर्क को भी बनाने में भारत सहयोग दे रहा है। कंधार में भारत अफगान राष्ट्रीय कृषि विज्ञान और प्रौद्योगिकी विश्वविद्यालय (ANASTU) को भी बना रहा है। इन सभी विकास कार्यों के कारण भारत की लोकप्रियता अफगानिस्तान में बढ़ी है।

चाबहार परियोजना को हो सकता है खतरा

भारत ईरान के चाबहार परियोजना के जरिए अफगानिस्तान, मध्य एशिया और यूरोप में व्यापार को बढ़ाने की तैयारी कर रहा है। इसके लिए भारत कई सड़कों का निर्माण भी कर रहा है जो अफगानिस्तान से होते हुए भारत के माल ढुलाई नेटवर्क को बढ़ाएगा। अगर तालिबान ज्यादा मजबूत होता है तो वह पाकिस्तान के इशारे पर भारत को परेशान भी कर सकता है। इससे चाबहार से भारत जितना फायदा उठाने की कोशिश में जुटा है, उसे नुकसान पहुंच सकता है।

पाकिस्तान की इमरान खान सरकार अब तालिबान के बचाव में खुलकर सामने आ गई है। गुरुवार को पाकिस्तान की वायु सेना ने तालिबान के ठिकानों पर हमले की तैयारी कर रहे अफगान एयरफोर्स के ए-29 लड़ाकू विमानों को चेतावनी देकर खदेड़ दिया। अफगानिस्तान की वायु सेना ने यह हमला पाकिस्तान के बॉर्डर पर स्थित स्पिन बोल्डक में करने जा रही थी। चेतावनी मिलने के बाद अफगानिस्तान के लड़ाकू विमान बिना हमला किए वापस अपनी बेस पर लौट आए।

अफगानी मीडिया टोलो न्यूज ने बताया कि उसके पास सरकारी सूत्रों से मिली पाकिस्तानी वायु सेना के साथ बातचीत की कॉपी मौजूद है। जिससे पता चलता है कि अफगान वायु सेना को चेतावनी दी गई थी कि वे सीमा के करीब आ रहे हैं। एक अफगान सैन्य अधिकारी का दावा है कि उन्हें चेतावनी दी गई थी कि वे चमन और स्पिन बोल्डक में अंतरराष्ट्रीय सीमा के 18 किलोमीटर के करीब न जाएं।

अफगानी उपराष्ट्रपति ने पाक वायु सेना पर लगाया था आरोप

एक दिन पहले ही अफगानिस्तान के उप राष्ट्रपति अमरुल्लाह साहेल ने ट्वीट कर दावा किया था कि पाकिस्तान वायु सेना ने अफगान सेना और वायु सेना को आधिकारिक चेतावनी जारी की है कि स्पिन बोल्डक क्षेत्र से तालिबान को हटाने के किसी भी कदम के खिलाफ जवाबी कार्रवाई की जाएगी। उन्होंने आरोप लगाया था कि पाक वायु सेना अब तालिबान को कुछ इलाकों में नजदीकी हवाई सहायता मुहैया करा रही है।

इसी बॉर्डर पर तालिबान को मिले थे 3 अरब रुपये

कंधार प्रांत के इसी स्पिन बोल्‍डाक इलाके में बनी सीमा चौकी पर कब्‍जा करने के बाद तालिबान के हाथ तीन अरब रुपये लगे थे। ये पैसा अफगान सेना छोड़कर भाग गई थी जिस पर अब तालिबान आतंकियों के कब्‍जा कर लिया था। तालिबान ने एक बयान जारी करके इस पैसे के मिलने की पुष्टि की थी। तालिबान के प्रवक्‍ता जबिउल्‍लाह मुजाहिद ने एक बयान जारी करके कहा, 'तालिबान ने सीमा पर कंधार प्रांत में बसे कस्‍बे वेश पर कब्‍जा कर लिया है।

Australia's second-largest city will lockdown for five days from Thursday night due to growing Covid 19 clusters.

Melbourne's fifth lockdown of the pandemic will apply across Victoria state, Victoria Premier Daniel Andrews said on Thursday.

The news came after officials announced on Wednesday that Australia's largest city, Sydney, will remain in lockdown for five weeks.

A three-week lockdown of Sydney and surrounding communities in New South Wales state had been due to end on Friday. But it will now last until July 30 at the earliest.

Health authorities are concerned by how quickly the delta variant is spreading in a vulnerable Australian population in which fewer than 13% of adults are fully vaccinated.
